Scott Dolmetsch - Co-Founder & CEO for Business Information Group
Scott A. Dolmetsch
Co-Founder & Chief Executive Officer

Scott A. Dolmetsch is co-founder of Business Information Group and its Chief Executive Officer. In addition to overall management of the company, Scott remains involved in the technical aspects of BIG’s Networks, Security & Telecommunications team and its Applications Development team. Scott has tremendous enthusiasm for harnessing the power of information technologies to increase process efficiency and to protect operations against failure and disaster.

Scott’s strength is systems analysis to provide clients with cost-justified solutions. For Scott, “thinking BIG” means thinking through big problems to evaluate business challenges. He is able to quickly grasp a multitude of details, think processes through, and foresee potential for error. Scott firmly believes in executing a well-thought-out plan to mitigate risk and ensure business continuity.

Scott takes a very pragmatic approach to system implementation. He distinguishes between functions that can be automated practically, and those functions which best remain operational procedures. Particularly in applications development, Scott often polishes his systems by designing options that provide users with operational flexibility.

Scott is the architect and lead programmer for BIG’s suite of tax collection and distribution applications, now evolving into its third generation. Scott has conducted complex database conversions, which allowed bureaus adopting BIG’s tax system to retain their historical data. In 2007, Scott was instrumental in the creation of a cost-sharing cooperative among the non-profit bureaus using the software. Together with BIG, the cooperative recently deployed web applications used by employers and individual taxpayers for online filing.

Scott has taken a hands-on approach to installation and implementations over the years, providing a truly personal level of service. Scott regularly uses metaphors to simplify difficult technical concepts and provides leadership that gives clients the confidence they need to make difficult decisions.
